Plants, for thousands of years, have provided us with natural, healthy ways to reduce discomfort, aches & pains, boost our immune system, relieve infections and generally help us feel better when we are feeling low.

Essential oils are the compounds found in plants that give them their smell – and therapeutic benefits.

Aromatherapy has provided us with the opportunity of using the plants helpful qualities year-round!

We use and apply essential oils in various ways including inhalation (through our noses) and topically (through our skin).

How much fun could be had in an evening where Mel comes into your kitchen and creates remedies for household use, wellness, pets, pampering and gardening using only what she found in your fridge, pantry and laundry cupboard with the addition of essential oils? There are many items in our homes that, when combined with essential oils, can work wonders for our overall health and wellness – plus household management and cleaning!

Mel will also be offering for sale Kitchen Magic – a booklet detailing the ‘how to’ of using essential oils at home (and what you can use them for), explaining recipes and providing descriptions of some of the more versatile essential oils that can be purchased for your kit.

Many old home remedies have been passed down from mother to daughter – only to be ‘lost’ and forgotten in the past 50 – 100 years with the advert of pharmaceutical and chemical companies. Now, I’m not saying ‘essential oils good’, ‘chemicals bad’. Like everything in life, I believe there is a balance – but wouldn’t it be good if you had on hand something simple that didn’t require chemicals to manage? Something that you could whip up in just a few short minutes that empowers you in your home to make a little difference – rather than using chemicals as a first option? Keep them as back-ups and use them if nothing else works!
